G. Alessandra Rizzi, Ph.D

I'm currently an Assistant Professor of Strategy in the Department of Management and Leadership of the Neeley School of Business at TCU.

I received my PhD in Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business in 2021.

My research focuses on behavioral strategy. More specifically, I study top managers and how their characteristics and behavior affect internal and external organizational constituencies.

My dissertation, “Activist CEOs in the Era of Woke Capitalism: From Shareholders’ Agents to Agents of Change,” revolved around the topic of CEO activism—that is, the extent to which corporate executives weigh in on sociopolitical issues unrelated to their companies’ core business.

Prior to starting my PhD, I worked in trade-marketing at Kraft-Heinz, followed by two years as a research assistant in the Department of Management and Technology at Bocconi University in Milan.

I hold a Masters in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University.
